How to learn how to surf the second wave
Posted on October 01 2020
Like everyone else, I have moments of fear and doubt. But I don't let panic into my life. The day I learned to let go of things I can't control, my life became totally different. But to do that, I had to get to know myself better and respond to the need to honour the woman I am.
You want to know why I made that choice? Because I wanted to change the way I look at things. I needed to see my days as my allies. When I did that, I felt free and light as a feather. You know that expression? It's so true.
So this is how I learned to surf the waves so I could breathe freely and be happy. No matter what trials and challenges I go through, I don't let myself get down anymore. Most importantly, I don't let negative thoughts get into my system anymore. How did I do this?
I started listening to myself. Just this. I didn't rack my brains looking for answers in every book in the world. I just took the time to hear what I really wanted in my life.
This is what came up inside me:
I wanted to:
*connectwith nature, take walks and go outdoors, alone or in good company.
* havespecial reading times. When I say that, I mean I take the time to read in magical places. In fact, I've created the perfect space for myself to relax.
*Meditation, please. Emptying up is a great way to fill up. Ayoye! I said it.
*pool, spa, lake, or bath: all good reasons for my body to come in contact with water. It's my favorite element. I feel so alive when I bathe.
*candles to say "I love you". Soft lighting soothes me. It's less aggressive than bright lights. I feel calmer and composed, and so do the children. Something to calm them down ;) https://bit.ly/3aFpWuC
* creamand face and body care. I'm not a person who likes to take hours to exfoliate, apply make-up, make cucumber masks, cream myself. But I love feeling that I've taken care of myself in the first place. I owe it to myself, don't I? https://bit.ly/3kVEFq0
* playwith the kids or with my dog. There's nothing better to take your mind off your worries. We live in the moment. That's it! Try it, you'll see.
*preparea good meal with new products. I'm a gourmet. No, I don't eat to live, I'm more of a person who lives to eat. I don't hide from it. Feeding myself creatively is one of my great daily pleasures.
*writing, over and over again. It's my great passion. It frees me to share caring messages, to create poems and to accompany other women in writing. I like to have beautiful notebooks with me at all times to put my words in.
These personal rituals have become clear and indispensable in my life routine. I must say that Marie-France Gagnon has opened the doors of mindfulness for me. It was after putting my thoughts on paper that I began to take action, a little every day. And it made me live magic. I became more serene, more smiling, more fulfilled. Finally, I had just realized all the simplicity of my dream life. And I was building it little by little, for myself, first and foremost.
I no longer felt selfish putting myself first. I realized that if I gave myself more precious moments, I would later release an incredible enthusiasm and contagious energy for my whole family and those around me.
I invite you to take the time, too. Above all, listen to what you have to say. On a piece of paper, I invite you to write down what really makes you vibrate in life. Then, concretize and apply your ideas in your days.
If you already do it, tell me, what difference does it make in your life?
What would you start by doing to feel good?
"It is through doing well that well-being is created. »
That means everything, don't you think?
